ECOWAS AND THE IMPORTANCE OF GUOSA LANGUAGE The lack of a common language in independent Nigeria and other West African countries has contributed to socio-economic and political backwardness in the sub-region. It brought about the absence of cohesion and unity among the people.Language is a means by which words or expressions find meaning and put into use. Essentially, it is used as a means of conveying information, thoughts, skills, ideas, and reasoning, and ensures receipt of same from varied sources. The absence of a common language can only mean that people are unable to share ideas, thoughts, skills, ideas, and reasoning. The need for an indigenously evolved lingua franca for the people in the West Africa sub-region cannot, therefore, be over emphasized. There are about 400 different ethnic languages, and dialects in Nigeria and about twice this number in other West African countries. The Guosa Language evolved from at least 120 of these languages and dialects. It is my contention that, as a common language, Guosa, will not only unify the people, but also contribute in the socio-economic and political development of West Africa. Let's remember you for some good works in posterity. Help sponsor or donate for the Guosa Language Train-the-Trainers program in your country. Contact: Alex G. Ajegunle.org
Ajegunle.org, a Paradigm Initiative Nigeria project, is a model that we have designed to create better livelihoods through ICT opportunities, entrepreneurship training and short-term internships for young people in Nigerias underserved areas. The project website is www.ajegunle.org and we are glad to have been able to commence pre-project work on other areas. We also invite you to view the project video (as captured by Nigeria International and screened in various countries) on CNNs iReport at www.ireport.com/docs/DOC-14359. Famous, like many other young people in Nigeria's most popular slum, was not sure of what tomorrow held for him. Now, he works at the Visa Section of the British High Commission in Abuja thanks to his participation in the Ajegunle.org project. Funke, another project participant, grew her business of N2,000 by over 2000% after the training. The project is also helping to change the perception of the Ajegunle community, as shown through the inclusion of the projects details on the popular Wikipedia website or search results through internet search engines. We are working towards the replication of the idea beyond Ajegunle, and are also keen on establishing the Ajegunle Innovation Centre (AJIC). The AJIC will serve as a knowledge hub where more youth from the community can be empowered for the world of work. It will serve the purposes of training, incubation and service provision: (a) Training: Providing a space for the Ajegunle.org training program and ...

Cure for AIDS? Medicine man says he can cure AIDS
Cure for AIDS? Medicine man says he can cure AIDS
Local healers in Abuja, Nigeria believe to have discovered a cure for AIDS. CNN's Christian Purefoy reports. By Christian Purefoy Fri February 6, 2009 CNN- www.cnn.com ABUJA, Nigeria (CNN) -- The small room captured the smells from the wild assortment of herbs, barks and powders scattered in bags at the feet of the local medicine man. Using the little available light, Baba Chukuri mixed together half a-cup of water, several crushed roots, and passed it to a woman who had come to him for medical treatment. She drank the mixture and cringed at the bitter taste. Baba Chukuri is one of many traditional healers across Nigeria offering treatments to hundreds of people daily for a variety of illnesses. Many of these illnesses include scientifically incurable diseases like AIDS. "My grandfather was a hunter," he explains, "we used to collect herbs together and he would show me how to make the recipes." There is no scientific basis to Chukuri's claims but speaking in his Hausa language, he explained how he charges less money than hospitals, so local people can afford him. "But also people trust me because they see my medicine works," he says. Seventy percent of Nigeria's population live on less than a dollar a day, forcing many people to come to local healers like Chukuri for affordable treatment. But with the second highest number of AIDS cases in the world, "bogus" cures for diseases like AIDS are also big business in Nigeria. However, Nigeria's Institute for Pharmaceutical ...

AIDS: A Survivors Guide
This film was made in collaboration with BBC World and Rockhopper TV as part of the 'Survivors Guide' series. The aim of the project was to create a documentary film on reducing the effects of HIV/AIDS stigma and discrimination and was filmed in Nigeria. The Commonwealth Secretariat's health section works to assist member countries in addressing the challenges in HIV/AIDS. Of the 42 million people, globally, living with HIV/AIDS, 60 per cent are to be found in the Commonwealth. Fear, ignorance and blame fuel stigma and discrimination and further marginalise people living with HIV/AIDS and this film aims to diminish these forces and encourage those suffering with the illness in the West African region, and worldwide, to seek support and continue living fulfilling lives.

Benefits Of Using An Alkaline Water Ionizer Part 1
Benefits Of Using An Alkaline Water Ionizer Part 1
www.waterhealstheworld.com www.waterhealstheworld.com It is believed that alkaline water ionizer is the best way one can get the purest form of alkaline water. Research has shown that there are tremendous health benefits to drinking this liquid. It also works about to be very cost effective at around one third of a cent per glass. People should be aware of what they consume when they drink water that has not been treated. Many scientists believe that much of the diseases that people suffer from are due to excess acid in the body. Two such diseases would be diabetes and arthritis. Drinking fluid prepared in this way helps to neutralize acid in the body. Even cooking with this fluid will be of benefit from a health point of view. There is apparently much research that backs up this theory. It is also a great way to detoxify. EROTIKO by Diego Tolomelli
EROTIKO by Diego Tolomelli
